Welcome to our community. The Town of Edson is located in Yellowhead County on the Trans Canada Yellowhead Highway #16, 199 kilometers west of Edmonton, 163 kilometers east of Jasper and 453 kilometers northwest of Calgary. Approximately 29,000 vehicles pass through Edson daily.
With a population of 8,365 and a surrounding county of 10,000, Edson is one of the larger towns in the province. Edson has a full range of recreation and cultural facilities, excellent health care services, a high quality education system, and a vibrant business sector that serves all of the shopping needs of the local and area residents. Edson serves a trading population of approximately 17,000 people. The Visitor Information Centre is managed by the Chamber of Commerce with assistance from the Town and is open year round.

headquartered in Edson. Tel: (780) 723-4471, and the Living Waters Catholic School Board headquartered in

The Edson Airport has all-weather facilities and a 1,825 meter runway. Alpine Helicopters and Highland Helicopters provide charter service. The nearest commercial and air freight services are at Edmonton International and Municipal Airports.
Railway Service
Canadian National railways provides freight service to Edson. Spur trackage is available. In addition, VIA Rail provides passenger rail service to Edson.
Bus Services
Local bus service is available from Legion Bus, Senior Citizen Bus, Handi-van, Beaupre Bus Service and Diversified transportation. Greyhound Bus Lines provides regularly scheduled inter-community service.
